Join us at the Minnewasta Golf Course on Friday, October 21st at 5:00 pm for our Showcase banquet.
A long-time resident of Morden, Larry Danielson is a teacher and a writer with a strong passion for the arts—literary, visual, and performing. An award-winning educator, Larry helped to pioneer on-line learning at the secondary level in Canada and traveled coast-to-coast promoting the integration of technology in learning. His 2008 play “The Long Journey Home,” depicting the life of Canadian sailors during the World War II Battle of the Atlantic, played to standing-ovation audiences in both Manitoba and New Brunswick. Larry also wrote the Heritage Canada application that led to the City of Morden being the first Manitoba community recognized as a Cultural Capital of Canada with over $700,000 in funding for local arts and cultural programs. He has served on a diverse range of boards—journalism education, policing, conservation, and especially arts and culture—and currently is the board chair for the Douglas Kuhl School of Music.
